[ everything smells really good and that's what gets hinata up and out of bed. it's roughly nine in the morning on a saturday, and he needs to get up and go for a run, but hinata's suddenly focused on one more thing: following his nose. the karasuno middle blocker sniffs at the air and slides out of bed, starting to walk down the stairs with his eyes half closed and his head tilted up, and that's when he sees the spread of what can only be one thing-- ]

[ immediately brightening, hinata goes from zero to energetic in four seconds, scurrying over to the stove. is that tamago kake gohan?! invisible tail practically wagging, hinata goes to scoop himself a serving, licking his lips delightedly. he's nothing if not polite as he turns around. ] Kazuki, you're the best! [ Most people panic when they wake up somewhere strange, somewhere that is very much not the place they previously fell asleep in. Souma is, admittedly, concerned and kind of worried. But he actually sees the envelope and pamphlet, so he knows what's going on even if he doesn't know, exactly, why it is. His solution?
Wait to see someone downstairs so that maybe they can answer questions. But there isn't anyone, and it's early in the morning, so he decides to make breakfast. It'd be a nice gesture, right? He figures he'll make the usual staples of breakfast, both Japanese and American because the names are very Japanese but the house looks American. The tamago kake gohan is very light and simple, so he adds a light Yukihira twist to it and makes enough for a handful of servings before putting it on the stove with flavorful miso soup to keep it warm.
He's in the middle of flipping a pancake in the skillet when someone bounces up next to him like a puppy, and he blinks when they make eye contact. But Souma just catches the pancake with ease and grins. ] Nope! I'm Souma! Help yourself, and let me know if you've got any requests.
[ THERE IS A RANDOM PERSON IN HIS HOUSE. you'd think hinata would be used to this, considering natsuki had appeared one day too, but it's been just him and kazuki and natsuki since bokuto left so suddenly having people here is weird. clutching his heart like a maiden, he steps back for a second and stares at the guy. should he be afraid?? ready to beat him up for home invasion??
Uohh--hey, wait, did you just wake up here? Are you my new brother?! [ cue the bright sparkly eyes, as he looks from his delicious fluffy egg rice to souma. ] I'm Hinata Shouyou!!! You made all this?! This is awesome!!
[ Where's this guy's survival instincts? Who knows, Souma sure doesn't act like he's got any. Then again the Polar Star Dorm was full of some pretty crazy people, so some orange haired kid coming out of nowhere to get food is like. The least strangest thing that's happened to him since he started going to Totsuki. Random people eating his food is probably better than living with a nudist, so.
He just grins big at the questions and introduction, shimmying the skillet before he deposits the finished pancake on a stack of its brethren. ] Yep, and I think yep! [ hinata is literally 100% unconcerned by this stranger in the house. seriously, note to future robbers: just ply hinata with food, he's like a dog that way. he watches the pancake fall onto the stack with wide eyes, and returns to his rice, shoveling it in his mouth much like a starving lion would jump on a baby antelope. ]

Especially since he has more pancakes to make.
At least he can understand people who talk with their mouths full by this point. ] I'm a first year! I just transferred in to a culinary school that has junior high and high school programs this year.

I've never had either before! Or a sister. I'm an only kid, and I live in a dorm at school but we all have our own rooms instead of sharing.
